Add Time, Add Relaxation

The main reason doing paperwork, cleaning your house, or washing the dishes feels like a chore is that you don’t feel as if you have time to do it. If you just take that time, however, each of these can become a relaxing activity. The caveat is that you must do so on purpose.

Filing your taxes will take eight hours whether you fret about it or not. But if you set aside a whole day in advance, those eight hours have already been accounted for, and you can spend them free from worry.

None of this gives you more time. None of it makes it easier to carve out those precious minutes. But it does change how you feel about life’s necessities. Add time, add relaxation. Lean into the unwanted, and it becomes part of the bigger picture. Take your time, and enjoy every task as if it was always meant to be — because most likely, it was.
