Do You Act Differently Online Than You Do in Person?

No.

This is something I take serious pride in. This story illustrates why.

Soon after moving to Munich, I thought a cool way to keep my family up to date was to document my journey on Instagram stories.

For the past five months, at the end of each day, I’ve posted a short, 1-minute video of all my story clips. Up to 50 people watch it on a daily basis.

It’s unbelievable. Like I’m creating my own reality TV show.

Most of these people I know personally, but there’s always someone new as well.

A few months ago, a girl from the Munich area and I started chatting, about life, careers, love, you know, all things important.

One day, she came to visit. We took a walk and then sat at a café for about 3 hours. Talking, talking, talking. It was so much fun to meet someone like-minded!

Before I went to bed that day, I had to ask her:

“Am I anything like I come across in my Instagram stories?”

She said:

“Exactly like it! It’s literally 100% the same.”

(let’s see how good your German skills are, hehe)

Creating content online is the ultimate test of whether you’re staying true to yourself.

I’m glad I passed this round.
