Inviting the Wind

Two hours. That’s what I was hoping for. At least two hours of time to add more of my Quora answers to my blog. Alas, it was not meant to be. Between admin, wedding planning, cooking, congratulating one of my best friends to his wedding, and, yes, some much needed chill time, the weekend was over before I knew it.

Sometimes, we really, really want something to happen right now. Often, time tells us no. We can rage. We can stew in negativity. We can clench our fists and try twice as hard long after we know it’s over. Or we can accept. “Okay, time, let’s do it your way. You lead, I’ll follow.” Trust that time will deliver your rewards whenever you are ready for them. And tomorrow, you try again.

In Striking Thoughts, Bruce Lee wrote that “You cannot force the Now. But can you neither condemn nor justify and yet be extraordinarily alive as you walk on? You can never invite the wind, but you must leave the window open.”
