One Small Thing That Will Immediately Brighten Your Day

Taking a picture of the sunset.

Here’s why it’s great:

  • Chasing the sun is fun.
  • It takes me 3,000 steps to get to the spot. That’s 6,000 tiny moments of movement.
  • Each one looks different. The sun never gets boring.
  • It makes me think, wonder and watch in awe, every time.
  • You can’t help but be mindful and consider how you spend your time when you watch the sun disappear behind the horizon.

My daily walk through the village includes a mini hike. One day, I stopped on top and took a picture.

The next day, I did it again.

…and again…

…and again, and again, and again.

It’s a tiny habit, but I get a lot out of it. Anyone can do it. You don’t really need the camera.

And you don’t even need the sun to be there for it to brighten your day.
