My goal is to write this daily blog in 15 minutes. Every morning, I start a timer and try to finish before it rings.
Sometimes, the fight is lost before it begins. Today, I was looking for Star Wars music. I got sidetracked into a movie trailer, then a fellow author’s latest income report. By the time I got back to my writing window, there was about a minute left. Rrrrrrrringggggg!
I could scold myself when this happens, but, most of the time, I don’t. Falling down rabbit holes is part of what makes me a good writer. Nobody yells at a golfer for carefully choosing his club. If it takes longer on some days than others, who cares? So, I skip the punishment. I start another timer and try again. That’s enough.
Most failures aren’t worth analyzing. Trust they’ll have their benefit, and treat them as part of the process. Continue as you were!
