“You can’t do that.”
How often have you heard these 4 soul-crushing words? Read More
Tomorrow 2015 will be over.
I remember January 1st as if it was yesterday.
The reason each year seems to fly by faster than the last is that as you age, each year represents a smaller portion of your life.
Here’s a visual example:
If you’re 1 year old, one year is your entire life. If you’re 14 years old, one year is only 7% of your life.
And so on.
That means at 42 years old, a year is only 2% of the time you’re alive, and it gets less with every year!
Seems to be true for me, and while I always ponder about the happenings of the last 12 months during those last few days of the year, I thought I’d take those ponderings public this time.

What’s the difference between these two pictures? Hint: It’s the same guy.
His name is Hal Elrod, and in the picture on the left, he is dead. But the picture of the jumping, happy guy on the right was taken way later. So what’s the story? If I gave Hal 3 words to sum it all up, I know exactly what they would be:
The Miracle Morning.
Look around where you are right now. I guess you are reading this on the big screen of your computer at work, sitting in your height-adjustable office chair, coffee mug right next to you. Or maybe you are at the library, checking facebook, using their free wifi during a study break. Unless you are already home for the day, cuddled up on the couch in your pajamas with your iPad, freshly delivered pizza in the still warm box sitting on your lap.
Wherever you read this, I am betting you are knee deep inside your comfort zone.
I’ve been there. Often times I still am. But then I remember that I must leave it.
Before convincing YOU to leave it, I would like you to do one thing. No worries, you won’t have to get up (yet). As in the article I talked about, rate your happiness on a scale of 0 to 10. Where do you land? Look at the important areas of life:
