What Are Your Most Controversial or Unpopular Opinions?

95% of college students are lazy as fuck.

They sleep all day, don’t work for their money, drink all night, focus on all the wrong things in life and then complain about how much they have to study.

It sometimes makes me sick how entitled most of them feel when they should be grateful and work their asses off for what the world has enabled them to do.

Take some god damn responsibility!

Optimizing your resumé is bullshit.

None of the work most people would call great is work a resumé gets you. It’s either a job you get by having the right skills at the right time (usually after years of hard work), or one you create for yourself altogether.

Chasing internships and logos and names and somehow trying to make your resumé look like the superior detergent in aisle three that has the most “awards” is ridiculous.

Do things because you want to, not because of the piece of paper you get for completing them.

Dating a lot of people is a waste of time.

Also true for friends, but especially for lovers. I don’t want 15 different girlfriends in my lifetime, I don’t give a shit about having dated many girls, I just need one to stick around, and she’s hard enough to find as it is.

With 3.5 billion women on the planet, I don’t have time to play the “I’ll just stay single for a few more years because YOLO and then completely freak out because I realize finding someone is hard and takes forever” game.

If you hold out for “someone better” forever, you’ll end up holding no one at all.

(they all look so happy)

If you’re 18, you should be able to support yourself by working for the money you spend every month.

I really wish I had been forced to do this, because it would’ve unleashed the drive I have now 7 years ago. When you’re forced to pay for your own stuff, your rent, your food, it changes everything.

Reality really hits you really hard when you realize how tough it is to make the money to pay for all the costs you’ve caused your parents all these years.

Try to do it for a month and see how well you do.

Politics and the news have ZERO impact on your life.

When’s the last time a big political change impacted your life directly in a massive, life-changing way, that forced you to adapt, whether for better or for worse?

The “biggest” thing I can ever remember is a state I studied in abolishing tuition fees – saved me 500€ per semester – wow.

When’s the last time you read something on the news and went: “Boy, I’m REALLY glad I didn’t miss that?”

Right, never.

Stop-loss mechanisms for stocks are useless.

They cause you more stress than good, because every time one kicks in and you sell shares with a tiny profit, you then have to try to buy them back for cheaper.

This means you have to monitor your portfolio more closely, which wouldn’t be a problem if you just picked proper stocks to begin with and could hold them forever.

Winners make great picks and ride out each and every crisis, because they’re in it for the long run.

Playing the stock market for the short term is a losers game.

To top it all off: I genuinely don’t care what you think about any of these.

Does that make me unpopular?
